History of St. Mochulla’s
The school is named after Mochulla, whose monastery was built on the site of the local graveyard.
In 1885 The Convent of Mercy Primary School first opened.
In 1953 The Boys National School moved to the present site.
In 1971 Local schools, Drumcharley, Knockjames, Fortane and Maghera amalgamated.
Then in 1998 the Amalgamation of Tulla Boys N.S. and Convent of Mercy took place.
